THE SECOND ATTEMPT
“Jürgen and the entire team looked each other in the eye, and everyone knew: We’re coming back and trying again.” Not out of defiance, but driven by passion and the call of the ocean and the people of the Seychelles, I returned and took on this challenge. The swim took place in the winter of 2025 and was documented here on this website with live tracking, live photos, and updates across all social media channels.
50km across the indian ocean
The journey, roughly 50 kilometers long, led from the main island of Mahé across the open Indian Ocean to the idyllic holiday island of La Digue – 13 swims without technical aids. Pure and authentic: becoming one with the sea, swimming with the ocean and not against it.

FOR THE PEOPLE
For me, this swimming campaign is all about generating positive impulses for the people to preserve and protect the ocean, the largest ecosystem on our home planet Earth. Let yourself be taken along the journey. I’ll share my perspective with you and together we can achieve what others think is impossible.
IMPRESSIONS
The Big Day – Results & Highlights
Start: November 28, 2025, around 11:30 p.m. (in complete darkness)
Goal achieved: After more than 13 hours of hard work battling currents, waves, and the vastness of the ocean, I reached La Digue the next day.
I felt great throughout the entire swim. The conditions were nearly perfect. We were able to complete the swim on only the second day after my arrival in the Seychelles. The current was flowing in exactly the right direction and supported me for much of the way. Towards the end, a few clouds even appeared, providing some shade from the sun. A very special highlight awaited me at the finish line: I was accompanied by several dolphins, an unforgettable moment.
